In the little village of Weston, just 20 minutes from Golden Stage Inn Bed and Breakfast, is Weston Theater Company. With live theater being performed in their new theater called Walker Farm, they’ve lined up a series of shows and events that will delight crowds for the summer.
Their 2025 line up includes Almost Heaven: John Denver’s America — where we will be regaled with John Denver songs and details of his life story, from June 11 – July 6.
Running from July 16 to August 10 is the classic — Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Despite the summer season, this play feels so fitting as its about a bunch of New Yorkers visiting a Vermont country inn “finding love and friendship along the way” (as described on Weston Theater’s website).
From August 20 – August 31, Weston Theater hosts the Regional Premiere of a Vermont-based play, A Distinct Society. Based on a true story, an Iranian father and his daughter are separated by an international border but find a library that bridges the international line and provides a meeting place. Even typing this summary, I find myself intrigued and curious to hear the outcome of their story.
And what would a theater line up be without the inclusion of a Shakespeare play?! From September 26 – October 12, Weston Theater will be performing The Twelfth Night Show. From their website, this comedy is replete with “mistaken identities, romantic misadventures, and nonstop laughs”.
